OAUG NewsPresident’s Corner
Most recently, during the COLLABORATE conference in April, as well as throughout my nineteen-year involvement with the OAUG, I’ve heard a recurring theme from some of our most active members: the more you engage with the OAUG, the higher the payoff. I totally agree with this sentiment. With every conference session I’ve presented, geographic (Geo) or special interest group (SIG) meeting I’ve attended, OAUG committee I’ve served, or casual conversation I’ve enjoyed, my professional and personal lives have been enriched. The opportunity to share and interact with other volunteers is invaluable. If your organization is a member of the OAUG and you or your colleagues are not taking advantage of the great learning and networking opportunities at your disposal, please look for a way to get involved and better leverage your membership. Other OAUG members will also benefit from the unique experience and perspectives that you bring to the table. Please consider volunteering for an OAUG committee or council. Become a leader or increase your participation in a Geo or SIG. Submit a presentation abstract for an OAUG conference, or even one of the local Geo events. You can control the extent of your involvement, but do get involved. The rewards in the form of contacts, friendships and shared experiences far outweigh the investment. — Mark C. Clark, OAUG President P.S. There is still time to submit presentation abstracts for the upcoming OAUG Connection Point® — Release 12.1 and OAUG Connection Point® — EPM/BI conferences. The call for papers closes on Sunday, May 15, 2011. OAUG Connection Point® Series Continues with Events Dedicated to R12.1 and EPM/BI
