OAUG President Mark Clark

Happy New Year

The OAUG has always worked to provide relevant education for users of Oracle Applications. Over the past few years, our approach to providing this key member benefit has changed in response to changes in the Oracle community, the economy and technology, such as:

  • Our increasing engagement with Oracle customers around the world and their needs to work locally and globally.
  • Oracle acquisitions leading to a larger and more diverse set of Oracle Applications users.
  • Members’ growing need for diverse education and information resources.
  • Persistent constraints on training and travel budgets.

As we venture into 2012, a number of valuable and exciting training events on the horizon will prove to meet the educational needs of our ever-evolving community:

  • OAUG Connection Point® — Dubai, 14-15 March, 2012, Dubai, UAE, gathers users and experts from the Middle East and around the globe to participate in the most informative Oracle education experience in the region.
  • COLLABORATE 12: Technology and Applications Forum for the Oracle Community, takes place in Las Vegas, Nev., April 22-26, 2012. With its emphasis on the Oracle users’ experience, the depth and breadth of content provided through our alliance with two other users groups, and the value of Oracle’s active participation, COLLABORATE remains the biggest, user-focused conference of the year.
  • As the committees, staff and volunteers roll up their sleeves to continue the planning and scheduling efforts, details about the new OAUG Educational Series 2012 will be announced soon. Building on the success of the OAUG Educational Series 2011, this virtual learning program, free for OAUG members, will present EPM / BI programming in late February and a wide variety of additional content throughout the year.

I encourage you and your teams to take full advantage of the OAUG’s many educational opportunities. If you have questions or ideas about these programs, feel free to contact me at mclark@oaug.com.
