Hi Appaji Rao, 1. If your chart of accounts is unified/ the values are common You can use a common value set for all the companies so that if one central team updates the values it will be applicable for all the books using COA which has that value set. 2. Regarding Restriction to the corporate office to create only parent values If you are on 11.5.10 and above you can use form personalization to do this. Create a form personalization on the value set values form so that it does not allow the user to create any value other than parent values and assign it to a user/responsibility. Hope this helps Regards, Ganesh Govindarajan -----Original Message----- From: OAUG Net listserver [mailto:OAUGNet@oaug.com] On Behalf Of Cura, Alice Sent: Friday, June 27, 2008 6:39 PM To: OAUG Net listserver Subject: [OAUGNet]-Re: Chart of Accounts Management Security rules can restrict access to accounts. not sure if you could use them for a set of values range yet to be created. this would only work if the parent segments are in set ranges of values Thanks, Alice Cura Oracle Business Analyst -----Original Message----- From: OAUG Net listserver [mailto:OAUGNet@oaug.com] On Behalf Of RAO APPAJI Sent: Thursday, June 26, 2008 2:22 PM To: OAUG Net listserver Subject: [OAUGNet]-Chart of Accounts Management Hi We have 70 companies under one business group, with 40 different set of books. Parent accounts are common for all these companies, in respective chart of accounts. Corporate office, is given control of creation of parent accounts. When new parent is created, it has to be created in all the 40 set of books, to bring uniforminty, which is tedious. Also, only corporate office, should be allowed to create Parent accounts, no other company should be allowed to create Parent accounts. How to restrict the creation.. thank you Appaji Rao __________________________________________________________ Not happy with your email address?.
