[OAUGNet]-BOM

I have a part and it's BOM is a common BOM.  We have created work orders for 
that part.  We have a need now to re-assign that part to a new common BOM... 
can someone step me through how to do this in the applications ?

I pull up the bill for the part #, click Bill details and it shows the 
common.  There's no place to change the bill.
I've tried to do it through delete group, but I get an error A discrete job 
exists for this item.  The job was closed 2 yrs ago.

So how else can I change the common ?
