[OAUGNet]-BOM and RTE mass change

We have a situation where we have a family of parts that have BOM's and Routings. We now have the need to mass update a range of parts to have a common BOM and common routing. These parts have been used for years on work orders and may have open work orders too. 

Does anyone know how to do this in applications ?
Or... can an update like this be done via an import ?
