I sent a .pdf document with screen shots to Jeff and the 2 others that
specifically asked for it.

It sounds like Jeff may host it for free download for others that want
it.

Basically, if you are familiar with forms personalization, set up a
personalization record like this:

Condition = WHEN-NEW-RECORD-INSTANCE
Trigger Object = USER

Go to actions tab...
Set up the following 5 actions:
All are type 'Property'

Object Type = Item
Target Object USER.PASSWORD_LIFESPAN_DAYS
Property Name INITIAL_VALUE
Value 90

Object Type = Item
Target Object USER.PASSWORD_EXPIRATION_TYPE
Property Name INITIAL_VALUE    
Value DAYS

Object Type = Item
Target Object USER.PASSWORD_LIFESPAN_DAYS
Property Name UPDATE_ALLOWED
Value FALSE

Object Type = Radio Button
Target Object USER.PASSWORD_EXPIRATION_TYPE.ACCESSES
Property Name ENABLED
Value FALSE

Object Type = Radio Button
Target Object USER.PASSWORD_EXPIRATION_TYPE.NONE
Property Name ENABLED
Value FALSE

After this change, all new records will get an expiration of 90 Days.
The entry person will not be able to change it but doesn't have to
specifically change it from the default of 'None'.  You should be able
to figure out how to adjust these instructions to meet your own policy
needs, within the limits of what Oracle has provided for options of
course.

Use at your own risk / discretion.  We are using it and it works well
for us.

To clarify what Mike is referring to...

We created a personalization so that when users are entered-- the entry
person does not have a choice to change the expiration # days.  It is
defaulted and they can't change it.

If there is interest in this I can post more details.

Perhaps you can use the API for fnd users.


Take a look at FND_USER_PKG.updateuser

It appears this package will update your user.  There are other
procedures to use if your users are linked to the HZ person tables as a
user.  I believe there may be documentation somewhere on Metalink for
using this API.
