Doug,

This can absolutely be done.  We are doing exactly what you are talking
about with the Invoice Distribution DFF.

You will use the Reference Field within the Context Field block of the
Distribution Lines DFF.  For our purposes I inserted
'DIST_CODE_COMBINATION_ID' and then also checked the 'Synchronize with
Reference Field' box.

Now, in the Context Field Values block I have inserted all of the Code
Combination ID's for the accounts that are on our 'list'.  I then setup
the Segments to match for each CCID.

When the user enters a matching account combination in AP then the DFF
becomes required and they are unable to Save without first entering a
value.  If the account combination does not match, then the DFF is
ignored.

We use the Invoice Distribution DFF on the distribution lines of our 
invoices. The segments of this DFF are to be populated by the user only 
if the GL (natural) account of the distribution falls in a small subset 
of accounts. Otherwise, the user simply closes the DFF window. For that 
reason, input to the DFF segments is set as optional.

My question is, is there a way to REQUIRE input of values to the DFF 
segments conditionally, that is, if the GL account is a certain value, 
and still leave input to the DFF segments as not required when the GL 
account on the distribution does not fall within the guidelines?

We are on 11.5.10.2.
