There are hoardes of bugs you are bound to trip over if you do not convert to
multi-org.  Some of these bugs have obscure workarounds.  Oracle does not test
their patches very well on single-org installs... if at all.

Many problems will go away once you convert to multi-org with a single operating
unit.  I agree that the impact should be minor.

Some of the server-side packages change with multi-org, particularly the HR
packages.  You'll want to test everything, especially custom code.

I've found that it does take longer to run the more data you have, but it
still doesn't take that long over all.  Usually I can run the conversion in
2-3 hours once it's set up.  It's never been that time consuming from what I
remember.

People are usually pretty scared of the convert to multi-org, but as long as
you set things up correctly in your organization structure before
converting, it's been pretty painless overall.

We are currently on 11.5.8, currently using AP and GL.  We are
implementing AR.  We would like to convert to Multi-Org and are trying
to decide if we should convert as part of the AR implementation or at a
later date.  Does anyone have information on run times for the
Multi-Org conversion job/jobs?  Will the process take significantly
longer after we have accumulated AR data in the tables?
