Hi, Can you please let me know where I can find the documents for migrating from 8.1.7 to 9.2 I am very new in this APPS SCENARIOS SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW THANKS IN ADVANCE -----Original Message----- From: Blank, Ron [mailto:rblank@mail.mcw.edu] Sent: Thursday, January 30, 2003 12:26 PM To: OAUGNet ListServ Subject: [OAUGNet]-Re: 8.1.7.4 or 9.2.0.2 ??? Tom, We have upgraded our 11.5.5 instances to 9i (9.0.2) a few months ago, though we are not yet in a production scenario. We have encountered only a couple minor issues related to 9i and things we are trying to do. We will be upgrading to 9.2 soon because we want to use the Data Guard and full 9iAS functionality; we are also going to 11.5.8 of Apps. There haven't been any significant functional issues related to Apps. We do have an issue with some queries taking longer, which I suspect is do to the database not being tuned correctly. I would hope the only advantage of Oracle including it in the actual release is that they have done some of the tuning to make it work as fast as the 8i instances. We run Oracle's ERP system on 8.1.7.3 and are considering upgrading to 8.1.7.4. The question is, would it be better to upgrade to 9.2.0.2? Our concern is this - when the ERP application is supplied on CD, they do not provide 9.2.0.2 even though the apps is certified to operate on it. Why not? Our concern is either 9i is not better for the APPS or the ERP apps is not stable on that technology stack or something else??? Does anyone have any experience with ERP on 9i as compared to 8i? What is your input regarding this? ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <OAUGNet@oaug.com>.
