[OAUGNet]-Re: 8.1.7.4 or 9.2.0.2 ???

I have heard the 9i database server should begin shipping with 11.5.9 software.  Even though 9i DB is certified with 11i, prior to 11.5.9 you were required to upgrade the database after an installation/upgrade has been completed.  Of course there are workarounds, albeit unsupported, to avoid this for those wanting to install/upgrade directly to a 9i database.

There are performance features available with 9i that make it an attractive choice.  For example, the CBO use of histograms with bind variables should improve execution plans for those queries.
