[OAUGNet]-Re: 8.1.7.4 or 9.2.0.2 ???
Title: RE: [OAUGNet]-8.1.7.4 or 9.2.0.2 ???
Tom,
As far as my experience goes Oracle Database Software has always been a
step ahead of it's cousin which is part of Oracle Applications software
distribution. Even though Oracle 9i is certified to work with Oracle
Applications11i it will be sometime before that combination is shipped
as default.
If you are planning to use any of the features Oracle9i offers than the
current release it makes sense to upgrade to Oracle9i.
My 2 cents...

Subject: [OAUGNet]-8.1.7.4 or 9.2.0.2 ???
We run Oracle's ERP system on 8.1.7.3 and are considering upgrading to
8.1.7.4. The question is, would it be better to upgrade to 9.2.0.2?
Our
concern is this - when the ERP application is supplied on CD, they do
not
provide 9.2.0.2 even though the apps is certified to operate on it. Why
not? Our concern is either 9i is not better for the APPS or the ERP
apps
is not stable on that technology stack or something else???
Does anyone have any experience with ERP on 9i as compared to 8i? What
is
your input regarding this?
