As Oracle directs its customers to begin using the new Oracle Fusion Middleware technologies, technical professionals will require new skills in order to be prepared for Fusion Applications upgrades.

The OAUG Fusion Middleware Boot Camp, presented by the OAUG and Oracle University, is an intensive, hands-on, 10-day training program that will help technical teams gain information and develop the skills they need to implement Fusion Applications upgrades.

The OAUG Fusion Middleware Boot Camp will cover topics such as:

  • The difference between Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Fusion Applications.
  • XML: Cover the basics of XML, what are schemas, what is XPath, etc. as well as how to pull XML from database (3 days ±).
  • Web Services: What are Web Services, how does one implement Web Services, technologies involved/required (1 day).
  • Web Services: What resources / web services are available to the public or privately?
  • BPEL: Oracle BPEL to include definitions, technologies, building BPEL processes, implementation of a BPEL process using Java components (3 days ±).
  • BPEL: Access Oracle’s Business Event System to trigger BPEL processing.
  • BI (XML) Publisher: (3 days ±) Beautify the layout of delivered Oracle documents.
  • BI (XML) Publisher: Ability to publish documents into Microsoft Word, Excel, or PDF.

The OAUG Fusion Middleware Boot Camp is presented by the OAUG and Oracle University specifically for OAUG members. Only through this strategic partnership between the OAUG and Oracle University can OAUG members obtain this in-depth, targeted training, within a compressed timeframe and at a very competitive price. Individuals taking the same training on their own would spend 13 days in class and pay more than $8,550!

The OAUG Fusion Middleware Boot Camp was designed for the developer who needs to make small customizations to Oracle delivered products, such as:

  • Adding additional columns or changing the format of a delivered Oracle report.
  • Accessing your suppliers' Web Service to process information.
  • Modifying the delivered business flow to include your company’s procedures or authorizations.
  • Beautifying reports from the drab dot matrix look to a professionally published document.

Venue

The OAUG Fusion Middleware Boot Camp will be held at Oracle University Training Centre — Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

Hotel, meals and transportation are not included as part of the boot camp registration. Each individual is responsible for his or her own housing, transportation and meal requirements. $4,995 for OAUG members
$5,595 for non-members*

*Non-member organizations will receive a one-year OAUG membership with the first paid registration from that organization. Additional employees of that organization may then register at the member rate.

Please note: The OAUG Fusion Middleware Boot Camp requires a minimum of 15 registrants. Registration payments will not be processed until the minimum of 15 registrants has been reached. The OAUG will confirm the boot camp on or before October 1, 2007. After October 1, 2007, registration fees are non-refundable. Substitutions will be accepted. Boot Camp seating is limited, and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. In the event the Boot Camp reaches capacity, overflow applications will be put on a waiting list in the order in which they are received. Wait-listed applications will be used to fill any seats made available through cancellation. The OAUG is not responsible for any financial obligations made for air or hotel that might be attributed to individual participation in this educational offering.
