There are so many people who help make the OAUG a valuable part of our member’s careers. Each year, the OAUG recognizes one person who has made an outstanding contribution to the organization and its membership. The OAUG Member of the Year demonstrates a high level of commitment to helping the OAUG better serve our members on a local and international level and proves the point that the OAUG truly is a community of global users with global solutions.
Sandra Vucinic has served as an industry leader in a variety of OAUG capacities and has made significant contributions in the following OAUG groups:
- Director of Database SIG Board and frequent presenter at events
- Director of SysAdmin SIG
- Committee chair for Oracle Tools and Utilities
- Director of SROAUG Board and frequent presenter at SIG meetings
- Director of Middleware SIG (formally known as Applications Technology Stack SIG)
In addition to these SIG board positions, Sandra has been on the paper selection committee for OAUG conferences, clocking many hours in volunteer effort. Congratulations, Sandra, and thank you.

2008 Innovator of the Year: EMC Corporation
The OAUG Innovator of the Year award recognizes a member company that has demonstrated an innovative breakthrough technique using the standard functionality of an Oracle Application.
EMC embarked on an ambitious program to migrate transaction processing for its extremely large customer service division to its E-Business Suite platform (11.5.10). While completing the normal gap-fit assessments against relevant modules, a key requirement became increasingly clear to the team, which developed a multi-pronged solution called Application Continuity Tool. The Application Continuity Tool has resulted in a significant reduction in downtime experienced by customer service and has enabled them to provide the high levels of service demanded by their customers. This solution is essentially unique to the industry, and has been a real win for EMC. Congratulations to the entire EMC team.
