President’s Corner
2008 OAUG President Jan Wagner |
The Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG) has a solid track record of serving users of Oracle customer relationship management (CRM) applications. As Oracle’s portfolio of CRM applications has grown through acquisitions over the past few years, the OAUG has kept pace by offering programs, resources and unique networking opportunities to meet the needs of the increasingly diverse community of Oracle CRM applications users.
Recently, the OAUG’s CRM special interest group (SIG) community came together with a renewed focus, forming the OAUG CRM Connect SIG. This new SIG was formed to accommodate users of all Oracle CRM applications and to facilitate communication between the CRM users community and Oracle.
The OAUG continues to work with Oracle to serve the CRM community through the CRM Connect SIG, which provides educational Webinars, speakers and support for regional and industry meetings, interaction with other CRM users and opportunities for dialogue with Oracle associates. On behalf of the members of the CRM Connect SIG, Oracle will participate in two-part CRM Connect SIG meeting at Oracle OpenWorld 2008 on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in room 3001 at Moscone Center. I encourage you to join the new CRM Connect SIG at Oracle OpenWorld to hear more about the group’s mission.
The CRM Connect SIG represents OAUG’s commitment to continually serve the broader CRM community, including PeopleSoft Enterprise, Siebel CRM and Oracle E-Business Suite users. The CRM Connect SIG is led by Nimish Shah, IEEE, and Robin Walker, Caliber Services, LLC. If you have any questions about this vibrant community, please contact Nimish at n.shah@ieee.org or Robin at rwalker@caliber-services.com.
To find out how to become an active part of this community, visit the CRM Connect SIG Web site.

Call for Volunteers: Communications BRM SIG Coordinator and Board Members
The Geo/SIG community is looking for volunteers to work with the Communications BRM SIG. Geographic user groups (Geos) and special interest groups (SIGs) serve the grassroots of the Oracle community and offer additional educational opportunities and new product enhancements through their links with the OAUG and Oracle Corporation. SIG members share a common interest concerning specific Oracle Applications products, as well as a specific industry. SIG members may be geographically dispersed and typically meet at OAUG conferences and Oracle OpenWorld. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Aaronica Merritt, Geo/SIG Coordinator, at amerritt@oaug.com.
Multi National/Multi-Org. SIG Welcomes PeopleSoft User Community
The OAUG Multi-National/Multi Org. SIG (MNSIG) is pleased to announce that the SIG will now include the active participation of PeopleSoft application users.
Beginning with the OAUG MNSIG meeting during Oracle OpenWorld 2008, the SIG will focus on shared challenges, international implementations, multi-national project management, shared service support, intercompany transactions, statutory reporting implications and much more. Many of these challenges are not application specific, but are common among international and global ERP system users. The participation of PeopleSoft user groups will help the SIG develop a broader perspective on these issues and facilitate the sharing of best practices and networking in this difficult application area.
Join the OAUG MNSIG at Oracle Open World 2008 on Sunday September 21, 2008, at 1 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. in Moscone West, room 3005.
Please contact OAUG MNSIG Chairperson Hans Kolbe at hanskolbe@celantrasystems.com or Mohan Iyer at mohan@fscpsolutions.com for more information about the OAUG MNSIG.
