Join the OAUG SIG Community at Oracle OpenWorld 2008
The OAUG’s dynamic and growing Special Interest Group (SIG) User Community will host more than 45 SIG meetings (PDF file) as part of the Oracle Users Forum on Sunday, September 21, at Oracle OpenWorld 2008.
The Oracle Users Forum is free to all registered attendees, and everyone is invited to attend the OAUG SIG meetings. It’s a great opportunity to learn and network with like-minded individuals from around the world. You need not be a member of a specific SIG or affiliated user group to attend; you just need to have an interest in the focus of the SIG.
Check the full OAUG SIG meeting schedule (PDF file) for specific meetings, times and room locations. Please note that the schedule may change as the conference approaches, so check back often for the latest updates on SIG meetings and other OAUG activities.

OAUG Member Ray Payne Named Oracle ACE
OAUG member Ray Payne has been selected as an Oracle ACE by Oracle Corporation.
Ray has worked with Oracle databases for over 20 years and has over 16 years of experience with the Oracle E-Business Suite. He has been involved in the development and implementation of a wide array of applications, spanning such diverse areas as Navigation Systems, Geographic Information Systems and Facilities Management applications. Ray is currently the senior architect for Oracle Infrastructure at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory where he is responsible for the planning and implementation of a broad array of Oracle technologies to meet the needs of the lab.
Ray has been a very active member of the Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG) where he currently serves on the Board of Directors as vice president for transition and global outreach. Ray has traveled around the world speaking at various events regarding the use of Oracle Technologies and has most recently been presenting a series on Enterprise Manager and Grid Control and implementing Oracle RAC.
The Oracle ACE Program recognizes and rewards members of the Oracle Technology and Applications communities for their technical proficiency and willingness to share their knowledge and experiences. For more information about the Oracle ACE Program, visit Oracle’s Web site.
OAUG Members Invited to Participate in Oracle CAD Security Focus Group
Oracle content management product management is creating a focus group to identify market requirements for securing CAD drawings. In cooperation with the International Oracle Users Group Community (IOUC), the Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG) invites interested members to participate in this Oracle CAD Security Focus Group.
Cooperative participation in industry studies and focus groups supports the OAUG’s mission to enable members to influence the direction of enhancement to Oracle Applications. By participating in this program, members can provide information that could affect the design and development of new products.
