I am pleased to announce that the OAUG Release 12 Financials Boot Camp is back. In cooperation with Oracle, the Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG) is presenting this boot camp as an exclusive educational opportunity only for OAUG members.

The OAUG Release 12 Financials Boot Camp is an intensive, hands-on, 10-day training program that will prepare project teams and implementation consultants to advance to the next step in Oracle Release 12 Financial implementation.

The boot camp is delivered over a two-week period and will be held during the weeks of August 18 through August 29, 2008. Boot camp sessions will not be held over the weekend of Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, September 24. The boot camp will be held at the Oracle University Training Centre in Chicago, Ill.

Boot camp registration is only open to OAUG members, and seating is limited. For more information and to register, contact Shameeka Ayers at sayers@oaug.com. The registration deadline is August 8, 2008.

The OAUG Release 12 Financials Boot Camp is presented by the OAUG and Oracle University exclusively for OAUG members. Only through this strategic partnership between the OAUG and Oracle University can OAUG members obtain this in-depth, targeted training, within a compressed timeframe and at a very competitive price.

OAUG Members Invited to Participate in Oracle CAD Security Focus Group

Oracle content management product management is creating a focus group to identify market requirements for securing CAD drawings. In cooperation with the International Oracle Users Group Community (IOUC), the Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG) invites interested members to participate in this Oracle CAD Security Focus Group.

Cooperative participation in industry studies and focus groups supports the OAUG’s mission to enable members to influence the direction of enhancement to Oracle Applications. By participating in this program, members can provide information that could affect the design and development of new products.

Information about the CAD Focus Group and criteria for participation are on the IOUC Web site.


The ABCs of Workflow Book is Now Available

The ABCs of Workflow is a compendium of real case studies and contains a detailed explanation of the various components of Workflow. Readers will learn step-by-step how to develop and test custom workflows. Details are available on the Solution Beacon Web site.

The ABCs of Workflow is published by Solution Beacon in partnership with the Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG).


Update your OAUG Profile

The OAUG has added additional Oracle products to the OAUG member contact profile system. We encourage you to update your OAUG profile to indicate the specific Oracle products you are using. This will help the OAUG to be sure you are receiving relevant, product-specific communications. To update your profile:

  1. Click on “my oaug profile” near the top-right of any page on the OAUG Web site.
  2. Login with your e-mail address and password.
  3. Click on “Update my Profile.”
  4. On the first page, confirm that all of your information is correct.
  5. Select “Continue” at the bottom of the page.
  6. Select the applications that you use in the “Applications Used” field.

While you are updating your profile, please check to make sure all your other contact/profile information is current. If you have any questions about updating your OAUG profile, please contact OAUG Member Services at membership@oaug.com.

New OAUG CRM Connect SIG — EBS/Siebel/Fusion

To better serve our members, the OAUG has recently affiliated the new OAUG CRM Connect SIG, which focuses on Oracle E-Business Suite, Siebel and Fusion CRM applications. This SIG is your connection for all things Oracle CRM related! The leadership is currently putting the finishing touches on their Web site. Be sure to check the site frequently for updates and information on what is happening in the SIG and in the world of Oracle CRM. In addition, plans are underway to host educational Webcasts and an inaugural SIG meeting during Oracle OpenWorld 2008. Geographic user groups (Geos) and special interest groups (SIGs) serve the grassroots of the Oracle community and offer additional educational opportunities and new product enhancements through their links with the OAUG and Oracle Corporation. The Geo/SIG community is looking for volunteers to work with the Aerospace & Defense SIG.

Aerospace & Defense SIG — SIG Coordinator and board members

SIG members share a common interest concerning specific Oracle Applications products, as well as a specific industry. SIG members may be geographically dispersed and typically meet at OAUG conferences and Oracle OpenWorld.
