President’s Corner

I am very pleased to announce that the OAUG and the Deutsche Oracle Anwendergruppe (DOAG), the German Oracle Users Group, finalized a key alliance agreement during COLLABORATE 08: Technology and Applications Forum for the Oracle Community in Denver, Colorado last month.

Through the alliance, DOAG members have expanded access to the worldwide OAUG community. Participating members benefit from numerous educational and communication tools designed to enhance productivity and empower users to maximize their investment in Oracle applications. Joint ventures include online training and other educational programs for application users in Germany. DOAG members will also benefit from OAUG’s newest educational initiative, the Knowledge Factory™, a dynamic platform for user-submitted content that provides a comprehensive knowledge-sharing resource for the organization’s members.

Oracle’s strong and ever-growing presence in the global marketplace requires that the worldwide Oracle user community unite to share information with one another. The OAUG remains dedicated to reaching out to user groups from many nations and cultures while enabling them to maintain their individuality.

I was delighted that Fried Saacke, president of DOAG, and Wolfgang Scherrer, advisory board member, were able to participate with the OAUG in COLLABORATE 08 in Denver. And, I look forward to exploring opportunities for the OAUG and DOAG to participate together in future educational and networking events that bring our members together to connect and learn.

 — Jan Wagner, OAUG President
