OAUG News
President’s Corner
2008 OAUG President Jan Wagner
The OAUG’s visibility continues to grow in international Oracle users groups communities as we strengthen alliances with key partners around the world.
In February, Ray Payne, a 2008 OAUG board member, traveled to Tokyo, Japan, to represent the OAUG at the Oracle Applications Users Group Japan (OAUG-J) Connection Point 2008 TOKYO conference. Ray delivered a keynote presentation covering the top OAUG objectives for 2008, provided guidance on the formation of an OAUG-Japan Customer Support Council, moderated a “Cross Talk” session between OAUG-Japan and Oracle Japan and attended a number of educational sessions.
Just last week, I had the opportunity to join the Israel Oracle Users Group (ilOUG) in Tel Aviv, Israel, in celebration of that group’s tenth anniversary. In my keynote address to the group, I acknowledged how the strength of the ilOUG is instrumental in furthering the delivery of information and solutions to users of Oracle Applications and influencing Oracle on enhancements and future developments. Oracle representatives, Karsten Roigk, vice president EMEA Applications Market Strategy and Sales Support Utilities, and Nadia Bendjedou, director, product strategy, Oracle Applications Development also delivered keynote presentations.
I would like to thank Mr. Akiyoshi Hiraoka, president of OAUG-J, and Doron Simchoni, president of ilOUG, for the hospitality extended to Ray Payne and me at these two great events.
The OAUG remains committed to building the knowledgebase of information and solutions for OAUG members around the world and will continue to embrace partnerships that enable the international users group community to connect with other Oracle Applications users.
— Jan Wagner, OAUG President
