President’s Corner
2007 OAUG President Jan Wagner
Happy New Year! I hope everyone is rested and ready to engage in the many exciting activities and events that the OAUG is sure to bring your way in 2008.
I would like to start off the new year by welcoming the OAUG’s new executive director, Mike Levin.
Mike joins the OAUG with extensive leadership, marketing and membership experience in international trade associations. Most recently, he served for eight years as the executive director of a regional office for the largest trade association representing the technology industry. In that position he worked with a board of directors and senior corporate executives representing member companies to carry out the day-to-day operations of the organization.
Mike has also held the position of president and CEO of the U.S. office of the International Coffee Organization, served as a member of the board of directors for a networking and professional development association for software professionals, worked as a senior account executive for an association management company, carried out the duties of the governmental affairs and marketing manager for a company providing solar energy products and owned two small businesses.
Steven Hughes is departing the OAUG as executive director to pursue other professional interests that will enable him to spend more time with his family. Steven will continue working with the OAUG and with Mike Levin in an advisory capacity. Steven’s strong leadership of and dedication to the OAUG over the past six years are much appreciated, and I wish him well in his new endeavors.
Again, I welcome Mike Levin and look forward to working with him to implement the goals and objectives of the OAUG in 2008.
— Jan Wagner, OAUG President
