President’s Corner

2006 OAUG President Patricia Dues

2006 OAUG President Patricia Dues

It is election time for the OAUG Board of Directors (BOD). I invite and encourage you to help shape the future of the OAUG and the global Oracle Applications community by submitting your qualifications for the 2007 OAUG BOD. For me, serving on the Board has been an experience of a lifetime. It has definitely provided an avenue for professional growth. But, more importantly, it has allowed me to bring attention to public sector issues and has helped build a network of Oracle Applications resources for my organization, the City of Las Vegas.

The OAUG is a global organization comprised of users and partners of the growing family of Oracle Applications. Our 2007 BOD is beginning to chart a new path. In order to be successful, we need individuals with strong strategic planning skills to join our team. Also, those interested in expressing the views of a specific geographical region of the world and/or the needs of a specific Oracle Application product are also strongly encouraged to submit your letter of interest as a potential 2007 BOD candidate.

The deadline for inclusion on the ballot is 11:59 p.m. EDT, Friday, September 22, 2006. Any employee of an OAUG member company in good standing may run for the Board (User member, Associate member, Individual Associate member). Additional information regarding the call for candidates (PDF file) including BOD position qualifications, submission process and election process, is available on the OAUG Web site.

To be considered as a candidate, please submit your biography via the online submission form. Please note that the limit for your biography is 250 words.

Thank you in advance for your interest in the 2007 OAUG BOD.

 — Patricia Dues, OAUG President

SQR Scripts: PeopleSoft Enterprise Customers

If you are currently using a PeopleSoft Enterprise application (8.0 and above), Oracle would like your help so they can better understand their customer’s customizations and set-ups as they design and build their Fusion Application Suite.

To automate the collection of this information, Oracle has written a simple, non-invasive SQR to extract key meta data and table counts from your environment. The resulting flat file, which does not contain any sensitive customer data, can be sent back to Oracle. That info will be consolidated with responses from other PeopleSoft Enterprise customers and used by the Oracle strategy and development organizations to better understand common areas that customers have customized, their set-ups and the typical features customers are using.

This info is invaluable to Oracle as they design the Oracle Fusion Application. If you are willing to run the SQR and send the resulting file back to Oracle, please forward this to your PeopleSoft System Administrator.

Additional information, including SQR script file download instructions, can be found on the OAUG Web site.
