Oracle President Charles Phillips announced an extension of support value for customers at COLLABORATE 09. Oracle’s announcement, an indication of Oracle’s ongoing efforts to protect customers’ investments and facilitate future upgrades, waives Extended Support fees for a number of major Oracle product lines through 2010 and 2011.

Details are provided in Oracle’s press release and Waiver of Extended Support Frequently Asked Questions (PDF file).

Through its solid, long-standing relationship with Oracle Support, the OAUG Customer Support Council (CSC) was the catalyst behind Oracle’s decision to extend support value for customers.

“Oracle’s ongoing collaboration with the OAUG provides us with direct customer feedback to ensure value is delivered not only with Oracle Premier Support but with all Oracle products and services,” said Sherman Terry, vice president, Oracle Global Customer Advocacy. “This announcement demonstrates Oracle’s continued investment to support customers by allowing even more time to plan and budget for product upgrades.”
